Term 2 Week 5

Grandparents Day

" I liked doing the dance because I like the actions and singing ," said Beata.

" Dancing was fun," said Wahaj.

" I liked singing because I enjoy singing," said Maiah.

" I liked doing the actions and singing because the actions are cool," said Logan.

" My favourite thing about Grandparent's Day was spotting both of my Nanas in the crowd, " said Annabelle.


" I liked singing and doing the actions because it was so fun," said Nikhil.

" I liked singing with my friends," said Quyen.

" I like dancing and singing and I like butterflies," said Angie.

" I liked my Grandparents coming and they watched me sing," said Lillie.

Term 2 Week 4

Cross Country

The school has been training for the Cross Country run which is to be held at Grey Lynn Park next week. Weather permitting!

We have been running laps round the top field and back round the board walks to the Junior Quad.

" I did two laps on the run," said G.




" I have been waiting for Cross Country for ages because it is so fun. It is fun because you have to do so much running," said Annabelle. 





 " I have been running three laps of the Cross Country," said Leo.










" I love Cross Country, "said Eleanor. 



" Sometimes I did four laps, " said Beata.

" I love doing Cross Country because it is exciting, " said Jett.




" We like Cross Country because it is sporty and is good for exercise, " said Mimi and G.





" Cross Country feels like you are playing the game Octopus'" said Angie.

Term 2 Week 2

ANZAC DAY


Last week we had a remembrance ceremony at school under the big tree on the front lawn. You may have seen the white crosses set out to represent the soldiers who had died in the World Wars.

We came back to class and had lots of questions and comments to make about the experience.

It was a very special occasion and it was very moving.

On Anzac day many of us went to the Dawn Parade.

" My Great, Great, Great Grandpa was in the First World War," said Mia.

" At the Street Dawn Parade we were holding poppies," said Leo.

Term 1 week 9

Our trip to The Greedy Cat Show.

We were very excited, we had learnt all about Greedy Cat and his stories. We had learnt how to paint a Greedy Cat.  We had learnt how to take on a role as a Greedy Cat in drama and we had done some Greedy Cat maths. We were ready to see the show!

On Tuesday the Puriri Team went to the Pump House on a bus to see The Greedy Cat Show. 

" Greedy Cat got a medal for being the fattest cat at the school pet show," said Angie.

" Greedy Cat looked fat," said Beata. 

" Greedy Cat was taking the food from the shopping bag, " said Logan.

" The cat ate the Mum's birthday cake," said Sofija.

" I liked the mum saying," Put that cat out in the garden," said Sienna.

"Greedy Cat got stuck in the door and he couldn't get out, " said Leo. 

" It was funny when Katie had to put her hands over her ears because Greedy Cat was meowing so loudly," said Gilbert.

" I liked the way Greedy Cat couldn't get the Nana's goldfish," said Mimi.

" Katie likes Greedy Cat so much," said Lillie.

" Greedy Cat ate the pepper and he sneezed," said Wahaj.

" Greedy Cat didn't like the broccoli that Auntie fed him," said Cooper.

" Greedy Cat is fat," said Madeleine. 

" I liked watching the show . I liked the part when Greedy Cat ate Mum's cake," said Lucy.

" I liked the part when Greedy Cat ate the pepper and jumped all around," said Annabelle.

" I liked the part when Greedy Cat got stuck in the big A," said Jett.

" Greedy Cat was fat and he ate too much," said Aniva.

" Greedy Cat ate all the sausages and then he was running away, " said Nikhil.

" Greedy Cat fell off the chair, " said Maiah.

" I liked how Greedy Cat ate the sticky bun," said Mia.

" I liked Greedy Cat he tripped on the chair, " said Quyen. 

" Greedy took the banana, " said Manu.

Week 7 Aloha Celebrations


We have been working hard in preparation for our school Aloha night celebrations. We have been practising our dancing and creating decorations for our stall. 


"My mum baked a cake with really yummy nuts in it, " said Angie.




"I am excited and looking forward to dancing, " said Mimi.

" I liked doing the painting for our sign, " said Manu.

" I like dancing with the whole school, " said Nikhil.

" I like dancing for my parents, " said Sienna.

" I am looking forward to getting a glow stick," said Logan.

" I am excited about being able to eat the sweets," said Lillie.

" I liked making our fish because they are colourful," said Leo. " They will decorate our stall."

" I like the part of our dance where we jump up and put our arms up and say " Geronable," said Beata.

" Our mums and dads have been awesome helping us too , " said Annabelle.

" We have been  busy selling Leis and raffle tickets, " said Gilbert.

Term One Week 6

Stepping Out with Constable Rob.

This week we had a visit from Constable Rob and he has been teaching us how to cross the road safely and travel in a car safely.









" It felt like I was a real Policeman when I went in the car , " said Logan.


" I liked holding the metal handcuffs, " said Cooper.





" I liked wearing the Police hat, " said Manu.


" I liked hearing the siren," said Sienna.






" I liked looking out for those sneaky driveways,' said Lucy.

" I liked going in the Police car and talking into the speaker," said Madeleine.





" I enjoyed crossing the road," said Leo.

" I liked dressing up as a Police Officer. It was very heavy," said Maiah.









" I liked going in the Police car. We were allowed to call out from his speaker. It was very loud," said Nikhil.

" We had to look left and right before we crossed the road," said Beata.
